News as of 01.04.2023: Index, contraception, agencies Dudelange and Differdange

The application of the index scale (=salary index) triggered in June 2022 has been postponed to April 2023. The new sliding scale will therefore come into effect on 1 April 2023. It will be set at 921.40.

As a result, the tariffs for acts and services in the following nomenclatures will change:

  • doctors
  • dentists
  • nurses
  • masseur-physiotherapists
  • psychomotor therapists
  • midwives
  • speech therapists
  • dieticians
  • palliative care providers
  • psychotherapists

Contraception

As of 01.04.2023, the new agreement between the State of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the National Health Fund on the establishment of a preventive medicine programme for universal access to contraceptives at national level is in place.

As of 01.04.2023, the following contraceptive methods will be reimbursed at 100% and without age limit, when they are delivered in Luxembourg:

  • the contraceptive pill
  • the contraceptive patch
  • the contraceptive ring
  • the minipill
  • the contraceptive injection
  • the morning-after pill
  • the contraceptive implant
  • IUD (intrauterine device)
  • sterilisation (tubal ligation)
  • vasectomy

Attention

This free contraception does not, however, apply to the male condom.
