Suffixes

In some cases, tariffs of medical acts may be increased or reduced. In these cases, a suffix is added to the tariff code. The suffixes which are currently used are:

Acts of endoscopy in urology and acts of endoscopy in pneumology may be increased by ten percent, if they are performed on children under the age of 14 years. Acts of endoscopy in gastroenterology may be increased by ten percent, if they are performed on children under the age of 6 years. (Art 8, nomenclature of doctors and dentists)

N, D or F

If a technical act is carried out in an emergency situation between 8pm and 7am or on a Sunday or legal holiday, its rate is increased by one hundred percent. The doctor notes the increased rate on the invoice by adding the letter "N" (night), "D" (Sunday), or "F" (holiday) to the code of the act. (Art 8, nomenclature of doctors and dentists)

B

A bilateral operation is an operation performed on both sides. If it is performed in one session, the rate of the unilateral operation is increased by fifty percent and the doctor notes the increased rate on the invoice by adding the letter "B" to the code of the act. If during the same session, the same doctor carries out several technical acts on the same person, they can claim the tariff of the act for which the coefficient is the highest as well as fifty percent of the tariff of the second and third act, if applicable. The doctor cannot claim fees for the acts following the third act. The doctor notes the reduced rate on the invoice by adding the letter "R" to the code of the act. If the complexity of an intervention requires surgical assistance, it is fixed to thirty percent of the coefficient of the surgical act in question. On the invoice, the doctor notes the code of the acts followed by the letter "P". (Art 11, nomenclature of doctors and dentists)

Acts of anaesthesia are increased by 25% if the anaesthesia is performed on a person over the age of seventy-five years or on a child under the age of fourteen. In this case, the doctor completes the code of the intervention with the letter "V". (Art 12, nomenclature of doctors and dentists)

A

The anaesthesia must be billed by the doctor specialising in anaesthesia-resuscitation at the rate of forty-five percent of the coefficient of the act in question. On the invoice, the doctor specialising in anaesthesia-resuscitation writes down the code of the act(s) followed by the letter "A". (Art 12, nomenclature of doctors and dentists)

In case of local anaesthesia, the tariff of the act relating to the anaesthesia is increased by fifteen percent. On the invoice, the doctor completes the code of the intervention with the letter "L". (Art 13, nomenclature of doctors and dentists practicing)
