Beware of fake certificates of incapacity for work!

The CNS warns against certificates of incapacity for work that can be ordered on online platforms without consultation or examination by a doctor.

The CNS will refuse any certificates obtained online without personal contact with a doctor or issued by unknown doctors. No compensation will be paid and the employer will be informed. In addition to the possible consequences under labour law, insured persons who use such certificates are liable to a fine and legal proceedings by the CNS.

The certificate will be declared null and void in all cases. The amount of the administrative fine depends on the duration of the false certificate:

  • False certificate covering a period of three days or less of incapacity for work: £200
  • False certificate covering a period of more than three days of incapacity for work: £500
  • Repeat offences, regardless of the period concerned: £750

The following are currently listed as unknown doctors:

  • Umar Masroor
  • Samueel Zubair
  • Haresh Kumar
  • Ahmad Abdullah
  • Sahar Rezgani
  • Imen Missaoui
  • Harbel Lakhder
