Change of address and situation

Life is full of changes, and the CNS is always there to support me.

Whether I move or my family situation changes, I always remember to inform the CNS so that I can take full advantage of my rights.

I can find all the essential information on this page.

In a nutshell

I live and move to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg → I have no formalities to complete.

I'm a non-resident... To take full advantage of the benefits provided by the Caisse nationale de santé (National Health Fund), I need to inform the fund without delay of my new address or of any family events such as birth, marriage or divorce, or death.

The good news is that these formalities can be carried out online, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day!

Everything I need to know

I click on the tab that interests me to find out more.

As a resident of Luxembourg, I do not need to declare my change of address or family situation to the CNS.

My Luxembourg municipality of residence makes the change in the National Register of Natural Persons (RNPP) and the CNS is automatically informed.

So I can rest my head in peace.

I need my 13-digit national identification number and ask for my new address to be entered in the National Register of Natural Persons (RNPP).

I click here to access the procedure on MyGuichet.lu

Good to know

I do not need to authenticate myself with a LuxTrust product to apply via MyGuichet.lu.

At the end of the process, I will be asked for the following documents in PDF format:

  • a copy of my identity card or passport
  • a certificate of residence

I have three options for making my declaration:

  • I send my request by e-mail to: actes.cns@secu.lu

Important: I don't forget to include the supporting document!

I enclose the appropriate document with my request for a change in family status: marriage certificate, marriage certificate with divorce transcript, death certificate or birth certificate.

Partners who have registered a partnership abroad may, if they wish and after registration in the Civil Register, make their relationship official in Luxembourg by applying to the Luxembourg Public Prosecutor's Office to have their partnership registered in the Civil Register. This registration allows the partnership to be treated equivalently to a Luxembourg partnership.
