Phishing alert: a new wave of fake emails sent in the name of the CNS
The National Health Fund (CNS) wishes to inform its insureds that a new wave of fraudulent emails impersonating the CNS is currently in circulation.
These messages feature the CNS's name and logo and refer to a pending reimbursement or an alleged administrative error. They then ask the recipient to click on a link to 'access their account' or to receive the reimbursement mentioned.
This is a phishing attempt.
The CNS advises insureds to be vigilant and urges them to:
- Carefully check the sender's email address, not just the name displayed
- Do not click on any links contained in a suspicious email
- Do not disclose any personal, banking or login details
- Delete the message if in doubt
The fact that a message features the CNS logo, name or visual design does not guarantee its authenticity.
If in doubt about a message received in the name of the CNS, insureds should contact the CNS via its official contact channels.
The CNS urges its insureds to be cautious and never to disclose sensitive information in response to a suspicious request received by email.
