GesondheetsApp: Your mobile health app
I can carry out my procedures securely using the GesondheetsApp, the CNS's mobile app.
I log in to my account to access the available services and manage my documents online.
On this page, I can find out about the benefits and features of the GesondheetsApp.
The benefits
The GesondheetsApp allows me to manage my health insurance procedures simply, quickly and securely.
When my doctor or dentist uses Digital Reimbursement, I can view my invoices and send them directly to my health insurance fund – paperlessly and in just a few clicks. When my doctor or dentist uses the digital system for certificates of incapacity for work (eCIT), I can also view and submit my electronic certificates of incapacity for work (eCIT) to the CNS and my employer.
Thanks to the GesondheetsApp, I can keep all my documents in one place, save time on procedures and benefit from secure data transmission.

I'm downloading the GesondheetsApp!
I can find the app in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, depending on which phone I'm using:
- If I have an iPhone: I'll download the app here.
- If I have an Android phone: I'll download the app here.
I'm logging into the GesondheetsApp
To use the GesondheetsApp, I need to have an active eSanté account. The steps to follow depend on my situation.
I don't have an eSanté account yet
I can activate my account:
- Using the activation code received from the Agence eSanté.
- If I haven’t received an activation code but have a LuxTrust product, I can activate my account via MyGuichet.lu, under the section Health and Social Security > Electronic Healthcare Record (DSP): I click on the ‘Create’ button in the ‘Electronic Healthcare Record (DSP)’ section, then tick the box ‘Give your approval to share your national identification number with MyGuichet.lu and the eSanté’ Agency, and then accept the Terms and Conditions of Use (TCU). My eSanté account is now activated.
- If I have not received an activation code and do not have a LuxTrust product, I can fill in their ‘Forgotten activation code/invalid activation code’ form or contact their Helpdesk on +352 2712 5018 33 for assistance.
Please note: there may be a deadline before access to the GesondheetsApp becomes available. If necessary, please try again the following day.
Next, after logging in for the first time, I need to:
- Accept the terms and conditions
- Set a 6-digit PIN to secure access to the app
I'll be asked to enable notifications when using the app for the first time, but this is optional and does not prevent me from using the app.
Good to know: Fingerprint login can be enabled later in the app's Settings.
I already have an eSanté account
I can access the GesondheetsApp:
- Using my eSanté login details, or
- Using LuxTrust, if my LuxTrust device has already been linked to my eSanté account beforehand. This can be done in three ways:
- When activating the account using the activation code
- At a later stage during account setup
- Via the Electronic Healthcare Record (DSP) procedure on MyGuichet.lu
Next, after logging in for the first time, I need to:
- Accept the terms and conditions
- Set a 6-digit PIN to secure access to the app
I'll be asked to enable notifications when using the app for the first time, but this is optional and does not prevent me from using the app.
Good to know: Fingerprint login can be enabled later in the app's Settings.
Security and privacy first and foremost
The GesondheetsApp allows me to view and share my health data securely and confidentially. I access the various services via a strong, personalised authentication process, which ensures that my information is protected.
What features does the app offer?
The GesondheetsApp allows me to carry out various procedures directly from my smartphone.
Submitting a paid invoice
The GesondheetsApp allows me to view and submit my duly paid Luxembourg invoice to my health insurance fund from my mobile device in order to claim a refund. For my invoices to appear in the GesondheetsApp, my doctor must use the new 'Digital Reimbursement' system.
How do I do this?
- I open the app and log in.
- On the dashboard, I go to 'Documents'.
- I select the relevant document.
- I click on 'Send' and confirm the submission.
Please note: Unpaid invoices can be viewed in the app, but must be sent by post or submitted at a CNS counter, accompanied by valid proof of payment.
Good to know: Paid invoices are not sent automatically by default. I can enable automatic submission to the health insurance fund in the app's settings.
In the app, I can also view the status of my invoices and check whether they have already been sent to my Health insurance fund.
Submitting a certificate of incapacity for work
The GesondheetsApp allows me to view and submit my Luxembourg electronic certificate of incapacity for work (eCIT) to the CNS and my employer, where electronic submission is available.
When my doctor issues an eCIT, it is not automatically sent to my Health insurance fund or my employer. I must send these myself.
I can find my electronic certificates of incapacity for work in the app.
- From the dashboard, I select ‘Incapacities for work’.
- I select the relevant certificate of incapacity for work.
- I can view the details and the transmission status to my Health insurance fund and my employer.
Accessing my Electronic Healthcare Record (DSP)
From the GesondheetsApp, I can access my Electronic Healthcare Record (DSP) via the myDSP app.
From the dashboard, I select ‘Access my DSP’. If myDSP is installed on my phone, I am redirected to the app. If not, I can download it from the App Store or Google Play.
Manage documents and access rights for my trusted persons
1. Manage documents for my trusted persons
I can add my children or any other trusted person of my choice to my dashboard in order to manage their invoices.
Important: the trusted person’s eSanté account must be activated beforehand.
To add a trusted person, I select ‘Trusted persons’, then ‘Add’.
Two options are available:
- Use the trusted person’s eSanté login details: I select this option and am redirected to the eSanté page. I then enter the trusted person’s eSanté login details, i.e. their user ID and password, or the LuxTrust product previously linked to their account. Once authentication is complete, the trusted person is added to my app.
- Use a QR code provided by the trusted person: the trusted person must first log in to their GesondheetsApp, go to ‘Trusted persons’ > ‘Give access’ and generate their QR code. I can then scan this QR code to add them to my app.
Example: if my child does not have the GesondheetsApp on their phone, I can add them to my app using their national social security number, followed by their eSanté credentials when prompted on the eSanté page. The child therefore does not need to have a smartphone.
Good to know: If your child does not yet have an active eSanté account, you can contact the Agence eSanté by filling in their ‘Forgotten activation code/invalid activation code’ form or by calling their Helpdesk on +352 2712 5018 33 for assistance.
2. Giving access to a trusted person
I can also give a trusted person access to my invoices. This person could, for example, be a family member or someone else of my choice.
To manage this access, I go to ‘Relatives’ > ‘Give access’, then select ‘Give access to relatives’.
To grant them access:
- From ‘Trusted persons’, I select ‘Give access’ then ‘Give access to trusted persons’.
- A QR code appears in my GesondheetsApp.
- The person I wish to give access to scans this QR code using their own GesondheetsApp.
Once access has been granted, this person can manage my invoices from their app.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Is the app only available to CNS insureds?
No!
Members of the Health Insurance Fund for Communal Civil Servants and Employees (Caisse de maladie des fonctionnaires et employés communaux, CMFEC), the Health Insurance Fund for Public Civil Servants and Employees (Caisse de maladie des fonctionnaires et employés publics, CMFEP) and the CFL Medical Mutual Aid Scheme (Entraide médicale des CFL, EMCFL) can also use the app to submit their claims for reimbursement to their relevant fund.
Will any other features be added?
Yes!
The GesondheetsApp will continue to improve: new features will be rolled out progressively to provide me with increasingly innovative and effective digital services.
Why isn’t my minor child’s invoice appearing in my GesondheetsApp?
When an invoice is submitted electronically by a healthcare professional as part of the digital reimbursement process, it is available in the GesondheetsApp of the person concerned.
If the invoice relates to your minor child, it will therefore be available in your child’s GesondheetsApp and not directly in yours.
To view and manage your child’s documents from your own GesondheetsApp, your child’s eSanté account must first be activated. You must then log in to your child’s GesondheetsApp using their eSanté login details and, in the ‘Relatives’ section, set up access to their documents for parents.
The various options for adding a relative or granting them access to their documents are explained at the top of this page, in the ‘Features’ tab, under ‘Managing documents for family and friends’.
Once access has been set up, you will be able to view your child’s invoice from your own GesondheetsApp and submit it to the CNS for reimbursement.
Please note: the invoice is linked to the person concerned. For a minor, it is therefore available in their GesondheetsApp. Parents’ access must be set up via the “Relatives” feature.
